JOB OPENING -- SENIOR ENERGY POLICY ANALYST
PUBLIC CITIZEN'S CRITICAL MASS ENERGY PROJECT
Since its founding in 1974, Public Citizen's Critical Mass Energy
Project has been a powerful voice in the movement to decrease
reliance on nuclear and fossil fuels and to promote safe,
economical and environmentally sound energy technologies. From a
Capitol Hill office, Critical Mass prepares and disseminates
reports, lobbies Congress, and acts as a watchdog of key federal
and state energy agencies. In addition, Critical Mass works
closely with other citizens groups and individuals across the
country, empowering them to participate in important decisions
affecting their health, safety and standard of living.
Responsibilities:
1) Advocate Critical Mass' positions to Congress and executive
agencies.
2) Research, write and organize on energy policy.
3) Prepare and distribute public education materials and action
alerts.
4) Speak to the media and citizens groups about energy issues.
5) Help to recruit and supervise researchers and interns.
Requirements:
1) Minimum 3 years experience in energy policy.
2) Strong research, writing and speaking skills.
3) Knowledge of energy issues, particularly electric utility
issues, and knowledge of the legislative process.
4) Computer skills, including Internet experience, preferred.
Salary/Benefits:
1) Salary in thirties, depending on prior work experience.
2) Complete medical and dental benefits.
3) Three weeks paid vacation (four weeks after two years); ten
holidays.
4) Pension after three years.
