Jackie,

Are you talking about the Claremont incinerator? There are a number of activists in NH working on this incinerator for some time, from Clean Water Action. Call the CWA office in Boston: 627-423-4661 to get in contact with them; I don't have the NH CWA office number handy.

I am new to all this-sorry if I don't have the jargon correct. Am looking for info on the process of plasma pyrolosis. Is this an incineration process for toxic waste? Must it be fueled with gas? We are a group of citizens attempting to shut down a local waste incinerator-it is classified a "waste to energy plant"-a source of expensive and polluting electricity. We are concerned that this operation is going to enlarge with a bigger facility burning MSW and gas (for burning real nasty stuff) and  they will be going into business selling more power. This is a real corrupt bunch. Is this happening anywhere? We are in western, central NH, USA.

Also need info re: incineration in Europe. Where have they closed incinerators because of pollution? Our city officials are always touting the safety of Europe's incinerators. We need some facts to set before them. Thanks- Please reply to Jackie Elliott: jj@TurboNt.net
