WHEREAS I, a duly ordained citizen of the Internet, am of the opinion
that the "Ajax" name is indeed a weak trademark, because I've seen it
used about a billion times in situations and in conjunction with
products and services having nothing to do with the family of cleaning
products offered by the Colgate-Palmolive corporation, to wit: on the
Road Runner show, on the TV show Duckman, in works of classical
literature, in various local services from air-filters and
construction companies to chemical toilets and hardware stores, etc.
ad nauseam, AND WHEREAS I understand that the domain AJAX.ORG is in no way in competition with the Colgate-Palmolive family of brands, neither is it attempting to market any consumer product, let alone a brand of detergent or scouring powder, AND WHEREAS I feel that AJAX.ORG as a domain is getting a raw deal because Colgate-Palmolive feels that they can throw a little money around and do whatever the hell they want with impunity just because they have the money to pay a bunch of lilly-livered lawyer-types to bug and threaten some wee dude into submission, I HEREBY register my dissent and complaint with the folks at Colgate-Palmolive and understand that by signing this petition that the above opinion will be sent forthwith both to the petition registrar at AJAX.ORG as well as to the the legal counsel at Colgate-Palmolive. I believe that AJAX.ORG as it stood posed no threat whatsoever to your company's trademark, by dilution or otherwise. You can also register your dissent directly with Colgate-Palmolive at their comment website: http://www.colgate.com/email.html as well as with our auto-mated petition above! OR DOUBLE HOW YOUR VOICE IS HEARD AND DO BOTH (strongly recommended) For more information, see the Colgate-Palmolive resistance web page at ajax.org: http://www.ajax.org/ajax/colpal/
