There will be an informal meeting and exchange  of views, organized
by the International Monetary  Fund (IMF), on the  theme "The  New
Architecture for an International  Monetary System  - the  IMF
Perspective",  on Thursday,  22 October 1998, from 1.30  p.m. to
2.45 p.m. in Conference Room 7. Mr.  J. B. Zulu, IMF Special
Representative  to the United Nations  and Director of the New York
IMF Office, will make a presentation. Members of permanent missions,
Secretariat staff,  the representatives  of non-governmental
organizations and the media are invited to attend.

Informal presentation

There will be an informal presentation, organized by  the World Bank,
on "Memory and  Vision: Cultural Identity in  a Changing World"  
on Wednesday, 21 October 1998,  from 1.30 p.m.  to 2.45  p.m. in
Conference  Room 7.   Mr. Ismail Serageldin,  Vice-President for
Special Programs of the World Bank, will  make the presentation.
Members of  permanent  missions,  Secretariat staff, representatives
of  non-governmental organizations and the media  are invited to
attend.
