Subject: IMF and AFRICA BILL TODAY

Perhaps folks could just take a few minutes between now and 1pm to make some
calls on the Crane Bill. Recall that Section 4 of the Crane Bill explicitly
and unilaterally imposes IMF structural adjustment on African countries. At
1pm the House goes into rules debate. The rule on the Crane Bill will not
allow amendment. Thus, a NO vote on the rule for the Crane Africa NAFTA bill
is a vote against the IMF.

Calls to CBC members are top priority: everyone else is watching what they
are doing.
