Amgen comments on EPO invention
Today Amgen decided to comment on the EPO invention issue. They told
several reporters that Amgen receives about 500 proposals per year, and
that in 1993 they received a proposal for this invention, and decided
against it, for scientific reasons, and that it was there understanding
that the invention was being offered to other companies, which Amgen
said, would have developed it, if the invention had merit.
For those unfamiliar with Amgen's efforts to litigate its claims
concerning intellectual property and EPO develpment, you might refer to
these press releases that EPO issued on April 16 and 15.
