May 7-8 meeting on Health and IPR

We are organizing a May7-8 meeting on Health Care and Intellectual
Property rules, which will be held in Washington, DC. I expect to have
more details out later. If people are interested in this, or have
suggestions regarding program topics or speakers, please drop me a
line. I'll have some more details to the list soon. This will be an
international conference, looking to provide governments and the public
health community with some direction relative for many of the new
disputes (post TRIPS) on health care and Intellectual property,
including such topics as:

Compulsory licensing of medical patents
Patents on pharmaceutical doses, surgical procedures and
    other medical practices
Alternative mechanisms to support health care R&D
Health Registration Data
Ramifications of new sui generis database laws on clinical
    data, genetic data, etc.
Barriers to entry of generic drugs
Parallel Importing of medicines
Trademark rights and regulations concerning generic
drugs, cigarettes, infant formula and other products
Second use patents.
