Korea to Sell Shares in Tobacco Monopoly
"The South Korean government will sell its shares in the Korea Tobacco &
Ginseng Corp. The plan is part of an economic recovery strategy that
involves elling shares in four major state enterprises to the private
sector. Other state firms will also be sold in part or in whole to private
investors at home or abraod. A Korea tobacco official said he is ooposed to
turning the high added-value of the tobacco business over to foreigners."
