1. PM International shipments up 7.8 percent in 1997
2. PM Intl annual growth rate of 11 percent over last five years (vs.
industry average of 1.5 percent over same time
3. PM Intl sold 7.115 billion units in 1997. PM Inc. (domestic) sold 235.2
billion units in 1997. International is 75 percent of total by unit.
4. PM 1997 international tobacco operating revenue: $26.339 billion;
domestic: $13.485 billion. International is 66 percent of total.
5. PM 1997 international tobacco operating profit: $4.492 billion;
domestic: $3.267. International is 58 percent of total.

RJ Reynolds International
1. R.J. Reynolds 1997 operating revenue: international, $3.428 billion;
domestic $4.895 billion.
2. Reynolds International sales up 1 percent in 1996 "despite a decision
to reduce quarter-end sales incentives in order to eliminate excess trade
inventories."
3. Reynolds International volume in Western Europe declines of 15 percent
and export shipments of 11 percent were more than offset by volume
increases in the CIS and Baltics of 13 percent and Central Europe of 43
percent."
