ENTRI is a collaborative project between such institutions as the National
Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), IUCN-The World Conservation
Union, the United Nations Environmental Programs (UNEP), and the Center for
International Earth Science Information Network (CIESIN), to name only a
few. Together they have produced a convenient online search service for
finding information about international environmental treaties and national
resource indicators. The ENTRI system is organized around nine widely
recognized issue areas such as climate change, ozone depletion,
transboundary air pollution, and the conservation of biological diversity.
In addition to finding many full-text environmental treaties through their
searchable database, this site has other interesting features like their
new Remote Sensing Image Gallery. Images obtained through aerial
photography from high altitude research aircraft, balloons, and satellites
illustrate specific issues, like Bolivian deforestation, and are
accompanied by descriptive information and links to relevant environmental
treaties.
