Another poposal for MSWtEnergy poison pump.

hi folks
I have just received a phone call from tim Barton a concerned
associate of mine in Kent.
It seems that Kent EnviroPower - who he believes, have something to do
with, or at one time were called Leigh Environmental (our old friends
from Walsall in the Midlands and 'Sealasafe' fame.)

It seems Kent EnvironPower have revealed 22 site they consider might be
suitable for a waste to energy poison pump. One of these sites is
Allington, Maidstone, Kent.

Tim would like to know if anyone has anything on what could be an
American connection to Kent EuroPower - "Pacific Cure" or Kabanr(???)

He would also like info on Fluridised bed incineration. Any specs -
papwers etc. It seems we keep hearing about this technology and how
wonderful it is, but have seen nowt about it.

for your interest:

Leigh Environment has a wonderful coloured history in the midlands.
they had a frachise for a process called Sealasafe. This was a fabulous
process that enabled waste to be stored in a pastic type cube that was
strong enough to be stacked one on top of the other. It is my
understanding that Leigh found thay could remove one of the most
expensive chemicals used in the process. (Perhaps they found what they
thought was a cheaper alternative??) Anyway, after a period of times the
cubes collapsed, with the liquid waste running out and into the ground.
big problem, especially as hundreds of the the blocks were stored
underground and it was months before it came to light. Campaigners in
the area have got on video tape a TV presenter speaking of the wonders
of Sealasafe and how it could be safely stacked one on top of the other
as high as God knows what! In the back ground viewers can clearly see
the plant manager being sucked into the ground soaked by the escaping
liquid waste and struggling to get his 'wellies' (boots) out of the
ground. Also in shot is a tractor that had become stuck and was tipping
over and sinking.

Oh the wonders of modern science.

Leigh Environment have got an appaling record of prosecutions and were
actually taken to court over the Sealasafe fiasco and as a consequence
lost the franchise. They went back (I think it was last year or the year
before) and they were granted the licence back by the courts. (Thank you
sire, very happy sire, kiss my a*** sire.) Yes folks! British justice
was seen in action protecting the community from dangerous practices in
the waste industry.

Leigh Environment was recently brought out by Onyx. A French concern.
They are the operators of the south East London Combined Heat & Power
MSWtE incinerator and handle the waste in Liverpool.

Any info that could help Tim would be welcome.

Regards

Ralph Ryder
