Netscape/AOL

If Netscape merges with AOL and then keeps Microsoft's browser, doesn't
that mean that Netscape's browser is dead?  We're left with one
browser.  Justice or FTC should put hooks on this deal--either force AOL
to continue Netscape's browser or to sell it off to someone who will
promote it.  How about Sun?
Wouldn't that frost Microsoft?
Right now it looks like a back door way to kill off competition.
Currently there is no money in it for AOL to promote Netscape's browser
(since browsers all have to be free now apparently).  Unless AOL wants
to use it to drive their portal to the Internet.  I don't know whether
that's good or not.
