DOJ wimped out

I have not read the MS settlement with DOJ...is it posted somewhere?

On the face of it, from the news reports I've heard, it only gives PC
manufacturers the right to remove IE(certainly at some cost) after the OS
install. Is that cost passed on to consumers....or Netscape....and would
any government action to compel "no cost to the consumer" removal
constitute an illegal taking of manufacturers' property? Baby Bells have
argued that with respect to costs associated with providing interconnection
software.

I'll wait here for my next Dell catalog to see if purchasers can choose a
machine delivered with IE or Netscape at the same price....I hope it
happens.
