I think Brett posts more about GPL'd software than I do. But
regarding the "news" about Linux and alternative operating systems, I
think part of the answer is that there is more "news" about Linux
lately. But your comment that I haven't posted "ANY" messages about
other operating systems isn't true. I've posted the odd bits about the
Amiga OS, the Apple's Rhapsody, OS/2, BeOS and I believe, Solaris (the
announcement of the free license for personal use). I don't know much
about what is happening with the family of BSD products, but have seen
your posts on FreeBSD (less on OpenBSD or NetBSD, and nothing on the
reason for three different products).
I personally find the play with Linux to be pretty interesting and
pretty important. I've mentioned BeOS in several articles recently, and
Be just sent us 2 copes of the lastest version, which I intend to look
at. The reviews of BeOS look pretty good.
