If a person is willing to work on something and then give
it away as per GPL that is the end of the discussion.
The First amendment guaranties them this right. They may
in your deluded opinion be 'wrong', but there remains
nothing you or anyone else can do to prevent this behavior.
If your friend prefers plumbing I say go for it, perhaps
you could give it a try as well.
