No, no, NO. NEVER remove anything. Rename it. You may want it back.
Especially since (as I recall) the Netscape summary file marks
messages as read or unread.

Yes, it's in the standard UNIX file format. However, like Eudora,
it uses other files (such as the summary file) for indexing,
so be careful about editing it. If the two get out of sync,
things could get ugly.
