Aargh! Anyone know how to repair Netscape Mail?

I'm an inveterate pack rat.  I have a hard time getting rid of Email
messages.  Last time I looked my Inbox had over 5000 messages.  I should
get rid of 99% of the them, but who the heck has time?

Now I find that I couldn't even get into Netscape mail.  Netscape just
quits on me whenever I try.  I suppose I should take the hint and just
delete my Inbox and start over.  What I did was simply rename the inbox,
so I can theoretically bring it back to life if someone out there knows
how to "help" me and can tell me.
