I am a Mac user who is forced to occasionally run a particular
Windows application on VPC (Virtual PC) on my Mac. If I buy a new
G3 Powerbook and move VPC from my 3400 to the new G3 am I in
violation of the EULA?
I suspect (and fear) that the meaning of 'a specific computer' will only
be decided when one or more court cases are tried. This is the sort of
question that keeps lawyers in BMW's. Or the ISVs make the terms
even *more* extortionary, and make such questions moot.
Unfortunately the home user or small business person can't afford to
fight such suits, so we'll have to suffer in silence until
someone/something breaks the bind.
I personally am *really* impressed by the fantastic way the 'free
market', so-called, works to the benefit of myself as a home
user/non-business. The invisible hand has me by the throat. :-(
