Berst: Is Intel plotting against MS?

Jesse Berst's current column takes a look at how much sense it would make
for Intel to try to overthrow Microsoft. In particular, Berst notes that
Intel ought to be upset with Microsoft's failure to provide innovations
that can drive increased sales of computers (which would naturally help
fill Intel's coffers). Combine Grove's demoing of BeOS, Intel deals with
RedHat and RealNetworks, and McGeady's testimony in the antitrust trial...
do you get a bunch of isolated events or a deliberate focus by Intel on
pushing Microsoft alternatives?
