Remember that Microsoft sold SoftImage to Avid Technologies after converting it from an SGI company to an NT
company? Part of the deal was that Microsoft had the right to take a 9+% share in Avid. Well, there is no lack of
money and now Redmond owns 9.4% of Avid. Guess what, Avid is now releasing NT software.
