Re: Rob Glaser's note about realnetwork problems
Both of these are well worth reading. Microsoft's "explanation"
misdiagnoses the problems which cause RealPlayer to be
disabled. (Microsoft does not understand how plug-ins register
with Netscape Navigator.) Worse still, Microsoft utterly IGNORES
the fact that it disables the NON-FREE version of RealPlayer
when it installs itself, causing customers of Real Networks to
lose the significant investment they made in a more sophisticated
player. This truly IS sabotage, because it doesn't just replace
one free product with another; it impacts a revenue stream upon which
Real Networks relies.
