My original estimate as of january of this year was that Microsoft would
resemble IBM in market dominance and presence by the year 2003 (there
are a variety of factors, but it boils down to "the poor quality of
their products will catch up to them").  My only concern is that the
estimate is valid only if alternatives exist.
