Same way here... The small town here has 2 computer firms that both
want to kill each other no matter what it takes, even if that does
require them to screw their customers. Usually people will deal with one
company, get disgusted and deal with the other, then move on to other
companies in a larger community nearby. There are enough new computer
buyers lined up that it doesn't hurt their business to not have any
repeat customers. Microsoft is the same way; there's only one of them in
town and they have enough new customers lining up to treat current ones
badly.
