If my memory is correct, http://ik3al1.fzk.de/~wiegert/browser.html
(How to Create Browser Sensitve Pages) also has links to pages
explaining how to make servers think your web client isn't what it
really is. People were changing IE to look like Netscape, changing what
OS they identified themselves with, etc. I'd give you a more precise
link, but that server is apparently down at the moment.
Just as a semi-related side note that will likely produce tons of
replies, I heard that IE4 for the Mac identifies itself to servers as
IE4 for Windows 95. That makes the sites that count hits from different
browsers, OSes, etc. show more Win95 hits and less Mac hits than they
should. I never could prove this one, unfortunately.
