MS Home Networking

Apparently, Microsoft's "WinHEC" -- Windows Hardware Engineering
conference happened in Orlando, FL, March 25-26.

Among other topics, the March 2 EE Times states Microsoft planned to
endorse new hardware which--running upcoming versions of Windows CE and
Win NT 5.0--would provide universal networking service to the home, and
for networked home-computing devices.

EE Times reported that a company called Epigram--and presumably
others--were proposing competing standards.

Has anyone followed this?
