Interpreting the polls
I interpret the two polls from CNN (they had an earlier one in which
users chose to vote that was anti-MS by three to one) as meaning that
those who don't care much about it think the government should leave it
alone, and those who do care about it hate MS overwhelmingly. I think
you'll also find that in the software industry, MS is deeply hated. It
continues to surprise me how deeply.
Politicians should note that this means that if you want to influence
votes in your favor, you should stop MS. The ones who don't care are
the ones who will vote on you based on some other issue.
It also means that those of us who do care need to continue the efforts
to educate the masses as to why MS deserves social pariah status.
