Re: Dow's test...cost of d/f testing




For any practical purposes, a dioxin/furan test in Vancouver
will cost about $1000 Canadian, for water or soil.  Other
media are likely to cost more.

My comment on Dow's non-exclusive purchase of the license for
the Paracelsian "low cost testing technology": by buying in Dow
has affected the costs and marketability of the technology.  Anyone
who wants to buy another license and market the test will know
that the powerful multi-national might enter a Dow version of
the same test at any time using predatory pricing and with
other advantages which a smaller company could never survive
against.

I suppose a Monsanto might be able to compete with them
on the test but this prospect seems unlikely.
