Re: Tupperware

At the risk of once again hindering the business of the list, I*d offer a
couple of suggestions. First, chemicals are lurking everywhere, because
everything is made of chemicals. Now that I have that off my chest, why not
consider the following. Tupperware is made of polyolefins, either
polyethylene or polypropylene. I don*t own any, otherwise I*d look on the
bottom and see if it has the recycling code, which many things do.
Polyolefins are very much like wax, and I think that some of what you smell
is the low molecular weight polymer. Still, I think you could get a better
answer. Both the Society of the Plastics Industry and the American Plastics
Council have web sites (www.socplas.org and www.plasticsresource.com
respectively) and you might ask them. For that matter, www.tupperware.com
exists.

Jessica undoubtedly knows this already, but I thought I'd include it for the
list.
