HARD COPY'S SWEETENER SCARE HITS HOME WITH MILLIONS

   Los Angeles, CA - October 26, 1996 - (ACSN) --
Millions watched as Paramount Pictures' HARD COPY TV
show took on the makers of the artificial sweetener,
Aspartame, and the FDA, two days in a row, on national
television this week. Anti-Aspartame Activists from
Dallas based Aspartame Consumer Safety Network were
featured telling their stories. Pilots with seizures
from aspartame (who lost their medical certification to
fly) were seen and heard telling the world about the
"Ticking Time Bomb" in every cockpit on every flight.
It's Aspartame... in the form of  gums, breath mints,
Equal, diet soft drinks, kool aid type drinks and foods
laced with the sweetener. ACSN's leaders have been
featured previously on: ABC TV's NIGHTLINE, LARRY KING
LIVE, GOOD MORNING AMERICA, CBN NEWS, THAMES TV, etc.,
warning the world of the hushed up Aspartame Epidemic.

   Two Commercial Airline Pilots were featured talking
about their grand mal seizures. One in the cockpit, in
flight. Both lost their "medical certification to fly"
as dozens of other pilots have, they blame their medical
problems on Aspartame. Worldwide Pilot's Hotline has
also heard from other airline pilots who've reported
grand mal seizures in the cockpit in flight.

   A huge audience watched incredulously as Senior
NutraSweet Medical Consultant, Robert Moser, M.D.,
extolled the virtues of Aspartame (a well documented
neurotoxin) for use by: "children, pregnant women and
lactating mothers ... "

   One interviewee, the mother of a four year old who
died and was brought back to life in the ER, believes
her daughter has suffered irreparable brain damage from
consumption of the sweetener in the form of children's
vitamins.

   A 30 year old diabetic described a debilitating stroke
after his heavy consumption of the sweetener. His doctor
then told him to stay away from it.

   Well-known Neurosurgeon/Author, Dr. Russell Blaylock,
told of treating patients in his practice who have
sustained serious neurological damage from their use of
this "Excitotoxin."

   A University Professor who suffered from Graves
Disease after beginning to use the sweetener in shakes
and soft drinks in lieu of meals, to lose a few pounds,
was shown also.

   Mary Nash Stoddard, Founder of the Aspartame Consumer
Safety Network (1987), has successfully reached millions
around the world following life threatening experiences
in her life, due to exposure to Aspartame. Now, with the
advent of her WorldWide Pilots Hotline in 1988,
following a request from a famous F-16 pilot who can no
longer fly, she reaches out to Commercial Airline
Pilots, Military Pilots and others to educate them
regarding the reported dangers to pilots of consuming
the sweetener. Her warnings were published a few years
ago in the official USAF Flying Safety publication, and
in dozens of flying publications around the world.
Stoddard claims Aspartame is "The Ticking Time Bomb" in
every cockpit, on every flight. And, no amount of
heightened airport security can stop it. Only vast
volumes of information contained in her files can. The
flying public needs to know. Airlines need to send memos
to their pilots, as one has already reportedly done. The
FAA should formally advise their members of this danger.
Thousands of adverse reactions have been documented by
ACSN and the Pilot's Hotline.

   In these first few hours following this week's HARD
COPY expose' of Aspartame's effects on the consuming
public (Pilots, Children, Diabetics, etc.), emails,
phone calls, and frantic requests for more documentation

more information on Aspartame's deadly effects on
members of the flying community as well as  the general
public. People are stepping forward with their own
"horror stories" and negative experiences they've
associated with ingestion of a neurotoxin.

   Founder of ACSN, Mary Nash Stoddard, well known to
pilot's as their "Guardian Angel" was the only consumer
activist invited to present findings at the first
International Conference on Sweeteners this past July in
Jerusalem. (She has qualified in court proceedings as an
Expert Witness on the subject.)

for members of the media and others investigating this

In 1993 Mission Possible began to tell the world aspartame/NutraSweet/Equal is a
neurotoxin, and 75% of the complaints on food additives received by the U.S.
Food and Drug Administration are against aspartame.  Telling FDA an approved
product is lethal is like reporting crime increases to the Mafia.  Several FDA
officials including Commissioner Hayes, who approved NutraSweet in l983, went to
work for NutraSweet Co. or its servants.  The District Attorney was hired by the
Godfather.

Mission Possible had high hopes and now the dam's beginning to crack. "We're
very focused on bringing consumers back to Diet Coke" said Nancy Gibson, world
marketing director for aspartame.  What went wrong? Blame NutraSweet, says her
boss Sergio Zyman:  "They are the ones at fault.  NutraSweet used to be magic in
a bottle.  Now its boring." said Zyman in a press conference reported January
12, 1996 by The Wall Street Journal.

"Make that Poison In A Bottle and Zyman's got it right!"  says Betty Martini,
Mission Possible founder, "The public is wiseing up and identifying their
headaches, vision loss, seizures, nausea, weight gain and 87 other FDA
documented symptoms as poisoning by constant daily microdoses of aspartame in
food and drink.  This toxin was once listed with the Pentagon in an inventory of
potential biochemical weapons, and Monsanto, owner of the NutraSweet Co. is the
biggest producer of poisons on planet earth.  Kill the weeds, kill the bugs,
kill the customers; what's the difference?  Think of it as tobacco in a bottle,
and in a blue envelope for your coffee.

Recent Cracks in the Dam:  Coca Cola, an official Olympics sponsor accompanied
the Olympic torch parade with trucks of drinks, but they were "Out of Diet
Coke".  Thousands of 12-paks of Coke were stacked in front of gas stations.  One
had 1,900 paks by gas pumps, but not one can of Diet Coke!  In Atlanta the
NutraSweet trademark has disappeared from Diet Coke cans.

Martini explains:  The Congressional Record of May 7, 1985 reported the
"Objections of The National Soft Drink Association to the use of Aspartame in
Carbonated Beverages" which warned that "soft drinks displayed may reach
temperatures of 120 degrees F ... aspartame will degrade rapidly at high
temperatures."  It degrades into formaldehyde and formic acid, embalming fluid
and ant-sting poison.  But formaldehyde cocktails bring big bucks, so bright
young folks like Nancy Gibson were hired to push the poison, and now 100 million
Americans and consumers in more than 90 countries of the world, unknowingly
practice do-it-yourself-embalming. This is wicked.  Coke knows we're on to it,
so Oops!  There goes Diet Coke from service stations this summer!"

Tactics In Atlanta

A year before the Olympics came to Atlanta, Mission Possible activists began to
first saturate the City of Atlanta with warning flyers that aspartame marketed
as NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, etc. is a deadly neurotoxin that is causing
sickness and death in more than 90 countries of the world.  Return to Eden, a
large organic vegetarian market here, provided a complete brochure on aspartame
titled KILLER KOLA complete with doctors' reports, the FDA chart and
testimonials.  They were given away free by the thousands.  Immediately an
unusual phenomenon occurred as people suffering from a bouquet of serious
medical problems heretofore undiagnosed by physicians found that on abstaining
from aspartame there medical problems disappeared.  Call after call came in as
people with lost sight called to say they could see again, diabetics who could
not keep their blood sugar under control found their diabetic condition
improved, and those who thought they had fibromyalgia began to walk again.  It
prompted the story THE SICK WOKE UP WELL!

At the walk-a-thons of the American Diabetic Association and the Juvenile
Diabetic Foundation activists walked with the diabetics giving out medical
documentation that aspartame was deadly for diabetics and that the trade
organizations were funded by NutraSweet (Monsanto).  Further it was stated these
organizations know full well about the dangers of this poison.

Elaine Fitchpatrick, Executive Director, saw that physicians had delivered
complete packets of information and on request information was provided for
reception rooms.

Activists from other countries began to translate our warning bulletin into
different languages for visitors from other countries.  It was advertised and
made public that this would be Mission Possible's 1996 campaign - HANDS AROUND
THE WORLD!  Understanding the power of the manufacturer and the history of
"funding" we knew that the only way to be successful was for the people
themselves to be involved.  That united in an effort to educate and warn the
world they were being poisoned could make a difference.  You don't have to
convince the public its a poison after asking them to take the "no aspartame
test" and letting them see for themselves their medical problems vanish.

The Environmental Times provided an ad during the olympics that all information
on aspartame was without charge for visitors to take home to help their fellow
countrymen.

What we intended to do was made public and Mission Possible activists from other
cities came to help pass out warning bulletins for the Torch Route! They were
amazed as consumer after consumer said:  "We already know, our physician has
warned us off aspartame".  Many told the story of serious medical problems that
had vanished.  One lady said: "I was going blind and my doctor told me it was
aspartame.  I can see again."  Another lady who knew people in NutraSweet said:
"They warn their friends off aspartame because they say it triggers Alzheimers."
Our warning bulletin contained publications for verification including Dr. H. J.
Roberts new book DEFENSE AGAINST ALZHEIMERS DISEASE  (1 800 -814 -9800)
explaining how aspartame is escalating this disease.  Memory loss is one of the
most common symptoms.

The olympics was a grand success.  Even in packed Marta trains where it was hard
to breathe warning bulletins were folded into fans and you could see the masses
reading their fans.  One man said: "To know aspartame is a poison all you have
to do is get on the Internet!"  While those in industry who benefit from the
sale of this neurotoxin tried to flame the messenger the constant posts offering
web sites and medical reports carried the message across the globe.  The efforts
of those who would suppress the truth failed because the controversy kept the
issue before the public.  Case histories poured in as more and more people "woke
up well".

When the olympics was over one Mission Possible activist went to the airport to
give packets to the athletes as they left Atlanta.  Coke had capitulated as no
Diet Coke was given out or sold on the Torch route. One Coke employee told an
activist they had no intention of distributing it and knew in advance of our
plans.

The American public as well as our friends around the world are fed up with our
food supply being poisoned.  We invite everyone in the world who wants to make a
difference to join us in Washington, D.C. May 30 and May 31. We will come
together as the Committee of 2001 and meet each other, take in ideas and
organize, and meet the press.  We invite doctors, scientists and the media.  We
want to end this insanity once and for all, and we want to educate people on
