Re: Re[2]: Are those spamming the planet with endocrine disurpto

Monsanto is not a major political contributor this election cycle. As of
September 3, 1996, Monsanto had contributed $20,505 to federal Democratic
candidates and $34,125 to Republican candidates. Those numbers do not
include contributions made by Monsanto executives, or by Monsanto to the
political parties.

Those numbers make Monsanto the sixth largest contributor in the chemical
sector, which itself is not a major contributor this election. (It ranks
below agriculture, telecommunications, construction, defense, energy and
natural resources, finance, insurance and real estate, and tranportation.)

This information comes from the October issue of Multinational Monitor,
and originally from the Center for Responsive Politics. The Center is the
preeminent group tracking political donations. You can check their web
site at www.crp.org.
