I recall a lot of discussion in recent weeks on Dioxin-L about the
increased production of dioxins in solid waste incinerators when PVC
plastics are added to the waste stream. We are trying to persuade
our county's solid waste incinerator operators to remove these
plastics from the incinerator's supply of solid waste fuel. They
have asked for scientific evidence that this would be a worthwhile
effort.

Would someone please provide me with specific references from peer-
reviewed scientific journals that support the argument that PVC
plastic in incinerators increases dioxin production?

Also, I have not yet received a response to my earlier request for
citations of research articles that describe the connection between
neurodevelopmental damage in fetuses and the mothers' exposure to
dioxin-like compounds. If anyone can give me such citations, I still
need them. Thanks.
