I have an opening in my lab for a post-doc to study the PHAHs (PCBs, Dioxins).
We have evidence that the developing nervous system is adversely impacted by
PHAH-induced alterations in thyroid hormones (see Goldey et al., Toxicol. Appl.
Pharmacol. 135:77-88, 1995). A description of the fellowship is attached.

Postdoctoral Traineeship
The Curriculum in Toxicology, University of North Carolina has an
immediate opening for one postdoctoral position. The research project concerns
environmental chemicals and endocrine disruption, with emphasis on
neurototoxicity
and thyroid hormone metabolism. Position requires a Ph.D. in toxicology,
neuroscience, or related field with experience in any of the following: thyroid
hormone biochemistry, auditory system development, persistent organic
chemicals, and/or liver metabolism. EPA policy limits awards to US citizens or
