Thanks, Patricia, these kinds of comments let me know that it may be 
worthwhile staying on this list.  I'm here to be part of making sure that 
the earth is safe for my children's children, and I believe that caring 
for the earth is a big part of that.  
My assessment around chlorine is that it should be used with extreme 
caution, and that in most cases, alternatives to its use can be 
relatively easily developed.  Many are already available, and await a 
market demand.    
I hope that most of us here are willing to work towards making 
sustainable alternatives available to everyone. I would ask those on the 
list to consider that this may involve actually supporting those who 
bring alternatives to the market (albeit, looking carefully).  It is 
difficult to continue to promote and market alternative products without 
generating sufficient revenue to sustain the businesses behind them.  
Further, dangers can arise when "established" business with 
non-environmentalist attitudes go into the alternative market. Perhaps a 
critical look at anti-capitalist mentalities is a key.
Something to think about as we begin our working week.  happy Monday.
