Re: Last straw

David, You got quite a response to your posting. I presume that you
represent the views of many of your colleagues at Stanford Research Institute
who do not actively participate in this group because of views of some other
list members. I think that that is unfortunate. The list clearly reaches
people of many different stripes, as recent incidents have shown. BTW, I
don't think it is essential that all members list their entire resume when on
the list, but I suppose it would be more interesting if everyone did.

I think that if more of your associates actually posted, especially if they
are aware of new facts, interesting documents, ongoing research and the like,
we would have a good discussion. For the many who are reluctant to trust
Chemical Industry types, we presumethat any liars and charletans would be
flailed by the marketplace of ideas.

I certainly have run into all kinds of bovine waste matter (BWM) when I have
discussed dioxins publically. Most of the activists are here to improve
their BWM detectors. Actual BWM would just be good practice.

On a side note, I appreciate that both Mark R. and Dr. Carroll have been open
about their orientations. (DrBill even has that website he's mentioned,
c3.org. You can't be any more declarative than that site is, although the
site does need a fact checker.)
