Dusseldorf Fire

In the interest of keeping the list updated on progress on this fire, I
include the following:

"Fritz Behrens, Justice Minister of the Land of NRW...explicitly confirmed to
the Commission that, according to the present investigation results, PVC was
neither at the origin of the fire nor the cause of fire propagation.
   (Kolner Stadt-Anzeiger,Aug.31,/Sept. 1, 1996)."

Early reports blaming PVC, especially those made by political activists
rather than scientists, may have been premature.  I'm looking forward to the
final report when all of this can be sorted out for real.
