WHO - Dioxins and PCBs in human milk - 1992-1993 data
Hello, everybody.
I have just received new data from WHO about dioxins and PDBs in human milk.
The source is : WHO European Centre for Environment and Health, PO Box 10,
NL-3730 AA De Bilt, Netherlands - email : eceh@who.nl
The title of the report is "Levels of PCBs, PCDDs and PCDFs in Human milk.
Results from the Second Round of a WHO-coordinated Exposure Study." Report
was presented at the 16th Symposium on Chlorinated Dioxins and Related
Compounds - Amsterdam, August 12-16, 1996. Report was presented by Dr A.K.D.
Liem et al.
To get a copy of the report, write or email to Dr F.X. Rolaf van Leeuwen,
Manager Chemical Safety, WHO European Centre for Environment and Health,
Bilthoven Division.
I have prepared a summary of table 1 of report with the following data :
Country
area
number of individual samples
fat in % by weight in milk
PCCD/F in pg TEG/g of fat.
I will send it to whoever asks me as an attached file in .RTF format which
can be read by almost all word processing softwares.
Table 2 of report compares 1987/88 and 1992/93 data. A general decline in
levels is observed in almost all countries, Belgium having still the world
highest level of PCDDs, PCDFs and PCBs. 8-(
Best regards, Manu.
