missouri dioxin oil

Just to be clear we are taking about Times Beach, Missouri
The good dr. from texas is partially correct.  A uv treatment
system was used to treat some dioxin contaimated waste but
this waste was not the waste that Russell Bliss mixed with
oil and sprayed on the roads of times beach and the horse arenas.
I do not know how successful the uv treatment of dioxin 
contaimiated waste was.  I would guess that no one really
knows how well the uv treatment system work as it was
used at a time when  detection limits were not low
enough to be meaningful from a human health and the
environment point of view.
It is also worth noting that the companies invovled considered
a uv treatment system for contaminated soil and they
rejected it based on the fact that soil
is not an appropriate matrix for a uv system.
