Here are a few figures I have about cow milk in the Southern part of Belgium :
(1) Province of Hainaut : avge 2.9 pg TEG/g of fat
Close to the following municipal solid waste incinerators :
Thumaide 11 pg TEQ/g fat
Ittre : 5.5
Aiseau 10.9
(2) Province of Liege : avge 1.3
Close to Liege MSW incinerator : 2.8
(3) Province of Namur : 1.9 - no MSW incinerator
(4) Province of Luxemburg : 1.1 - no MSW incinerator
Besides MSW incinerators, hospital waste incinerators would come second in
Belgium as source of dioxins in Belgium, while they would be first in the
States.
Breastmilk in Belgium contained 39.5 pg TEQ/g fat. (US : 16.6). This figure
is decreasing in Belgium. Source : WHO.
Best regards, Manu.
