Dioxin exposure routes
The chart in EPA's dioxin reassessment which shows the largest exposure routes
for dioxin is now online at the Dioxin Homepage:
http://www.envirolink.org/issues/dioxin
The largest sources of exposure are (in order):
Beef Ingestion
Dairy Ingestion
Milk Ingestion
Chicken Ingestion
Pork Ingestion
Fish Ingestion
Egg Ingestion
followed by Ingestion and Soil Ingestion (defined as dermal contact)
116.7 of the 119.7 pg/day exposure is via meat and dairy products.
This translates to 97.5% of dioxin exposure being via meat and dairy products.
It seems that we ought to be actively advocating as close to a vegan
(NO animal products) diet as possible, for obvious health reasons.
