Answer :
Take a good look at thermolysis for what regards the processing of the organic
fraction of municipal solid waste. The process steamcracks organic molecules
and produces enough fuel gas to make it self-sufficient in terms of heating,
and a carbon mass which can be used as fuel. Lime is added to waste to
neutralize acids. No dust, no dioxins, no furans, no heavy metals, no sulfur
dioxide, no acids are dispersed in the environment.
In comparison, MSW incineration is highly polluting Mother Nature.
