  Chemical blast -- Fourteen people were injured when a
railway wagon carrying highly toxic vinyl chloride exploded
and burst into flames near Schoenebeck, Germany, officials
announced Sunday. Two other wagons caught fire, leaving a
cloud of toxic fumes hanging over the area. Experts from the
BASF chemical company were at the scene of the blast pumping
the contents of the remaining wagons into other tanker
wagons and removing them to prevent the rest of the train
catching fire. Local government environment experts were
also there to measure toxic levels in the air. Source:
