Foe web site
Michael,
I have been having trouble connecting to the FOE site, wrote the webmaster
(about featuring the Newbury demonstrations on EAN), and have not
received a reply after a week. I was afraid the site had folded. You
were there recently? I do remember seeing this feaure ( a clickable image
map) on their site last year, and use the idea on the EAN, where I have a map
of the US, and when you click on a state, you are sent to the homepages
and email links to the state's congresspeople and senators.
The US is too big and too polluted for this to work with a single
map of the US. So imagemaps for individual states would have to be made,
then you could click and be led to info about the sites.
I am interested in such a project, but can not do it all myself.
I can provide the initial US imagemap, and links to the states. I can create
the website, and hold it for free on Envirolink, where I have been granted
space for such projects. Where I need help is in developing the lists of
sites, and the backup information.
The best approach is to start with one state, collect the needed info,
create the web pages, and then create the image map, then see how much time
and energy is involved. (It took me several weeks to create the Congess
map I have). I could work more quickly if a funding source were found
(most/all of my environmental work has been pro bono, funded by my work
as a mason (I am moving into computer consulting, it is much easier!)).
Is there anyone out there willing to work with me on this? This is a large,
but important project, and it can be done.
