FOE Home Page

Check out the Friends of the Earth home page at

http://www.foe.co.uk

They have a mapping system in place that identifies all the facilities
that emit pollutants in the United Kingdom. You can search the page by
postal code or by clicking on a geographic area of the national map. It
zooms in and shows the polluters as red dots. If you click on a red dot,
it brings up the name of the facility, the emissions for the last 3 or 4
years into air, water, and land, and then gives a comparison of actual
emmisions to authorized limits. Does anyone know if anyone is doing this
kind of work in the US? It would be great to have a map of the US on the
WWW that you could go to, point and shoot, and find out what facilities
pollute and which chemicals they release. I would appreciate any leads.
Thanks.
