wash post endorses S. 1360 - sort of
In an editorial that reads like a page out of Janlori Goldman's
testimony, the Washington Post's lead editorial today pretty much
endorsed S. 1360. There was, however, a part that said:
"not everyone is satisfied with the bill as now written. some have argued
that exceptions, like those for law enforcement officers with a warrant
and for public health officials at every level of government, are too
broad. These suggestions merit consideration, but they should not
sidetrack the bill." ....
Not any mention that a core objection to S. 1360 is that it allows the
decisions about what goes into these huge databases to be made by
insurance companies, HMOs and employers, rather than doctors or
patients.
