I believe that the answer to this question is Senator Bennett, the
bill's sponsor. "We should have this all done by Thanksgiving." At
least that's what I heard when he spoke at the Privacy and American
Business Conference on October 31. That was also the meeting where
Bob Belair said that this bill was "more friendly to industry" than
Rep. Condit's proposal.
